Tree of Life: Living with Cancer Support

The next series of Living with Cancer Support begins Tuesday, March 27 and continues each Tuesday through May 15.
Theme for the Spring series is Tree of Life. PNI counselors Pat Shoemaker, MSW and Rita Gingrich, MSW, will focus the first 2 sessions on hope. The April 3 session will include an introduction to the 2012 Lily Oncology art competition . Registration forms to submit an entry for the 2012 competition will be available for any interested person.
Art therapist, Kortney Malone will lead the remaining sessions until May 15, when the series concludes with a labyrinth walk, again tied to the Tree of Life theme.

IU Health Goshen will host their annual cancer celebration May 20 at the Goshen College Music Center's Sauder Hall on the Goshen College campus. There is no cost to attend and the event is open to the public. Details will be posted as they are received.

National Cancer Survivors Day at the CoveSun, Jun 3rd, 2012

Michiana area cancer survivors are invited to participate in National Cancer Survivors Day on June 3 at Coveleski Stadium, South Bend, Ind. Bring your family and friends for a fun-filled day at the ballpark!
Sponsored by the Michiana Cancer Survivors Society, this annual event includes a picnic lunch, live music, games and admission to the SilverHawks & Lansing Lugnuts baseball game. Tickets are $5. Survivors are invited to take a celebration lap around the bases before the game. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. noon with game time at 2:05 p.m.

National Cancer Survivors Day, traditonally celebrated on the first Sunday in June, is an annual worldwide celebration held in hundreds of communities worldwide. Survivors, friends and families, unite in a symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.

Relay for Life Elkhart County United!Sat, Jun 16th, 2012
The 2012 Relay for Life of Elkhart County will be held from 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 16 to 10:00 a.m. Sunday June 17.
This event will be a combined Elkhart County North (Elkhart) and Elkhart County South (Goshen)event. It will be held at the Concord High School in Dunlap, Ind.
A Survivor luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon, for survivors and a guest. Registration is requested by calling 574-364-2922. There is no charge for the lunch. The luncheon will include a survivor guest speaker and survivor 'count down.'
