The Medicinary at Goshen Center for Cancer Care

Are you aware we have our very own retail Medicinary that sells professional grade vitamins, supplements, herbals, homeopathics, and essential oils? We have a vast array of products that are recommended by our Naturopathic Doctors and occasionally by our Registered Dietitians that aid our cancer patients in treating side effects and boosting their immune systems while improving the quality of life for our patients in general. Our Medicinary is located in the main lobby on the first floor of the Cancer Center.

One of the reasons we have a Medicinary is so that we can offer our patients products that are guaranteed for quality. Many issues with over-the-counter vitamin and herbal supplements have been identified that are not limited to contamination by heavy metals or pesticide residues, inaccurate dosing on the label, and cheaper and more poorly absorbable forms of nutrients used. The supplements we carry have all been third party tested in both raw material and final product so you can be assured that you are getting what was recommended to you in the best possible form available.

Anyone can purchase supplements from our Medicinary including hospital and cancer center colleagues, family members, friends, and caregivers of patients. Just be sure to remember that the Medicinary Technician cannot recommend any products for any reason or give clinical advice on how to take any of the products. So if you are not a patient of ours you should contact your primary care doctor to make sure it is safe to take a product and that it will not interact with any of your current prescribed medications.

What most people are unaware of is that the products sold in our Medicinary are not covered by insurance. Even though they are sold in a hospital and have been recommended by a provider they are not covered. Because of this fact the Cancer Center has a Naturopathic Wellness Fund that is available for current cancer center patients with a confirmed cancer diagnosis. There is an application process and guidelines and restrictions do apply. If you feel you may need assistance in paying for your supplements don’t hesitate to ask your Naturopathic Doctor or the Medicinary Technician for an application.
