Northridge High School raises 8K for Center for Cancer Care

Each year students and staff at Northridge High School pool their time, talents and resources in the name of Hoops for Hope, a fundraising effort benefiting the Naturopathic Wellness Fund at Goshen Center for Cancer Care.

This year the Lady Raiders basketball team hosted the NorthWood Panthers. Students, staff and community members purchased t-shirts and all admission proceeds were donated towards the event.

The Goshen Health Foundation and naturopathic doctor, Emily Moore, accepted the donation on game night, Jan. 13.

Goshen Center for Cancer Care patients receive the most comprehensive cancer care plan, including an integrative care team of naturopathic doctors, mind-body counselors and registered dietitians. The Naturopathic Wellness Fund supports patients seeking services not covered by insurance to help improve quality of life during and after traditional cancer treatment.

“The annual Hoops for Hope fundraiser was a complete success,” said John Stearns, Northridge High School math teacher and coordinator of the event. “The Lady Raiders were proud to be able to impact the Goshen Center for Cancer Care in such a positive way. We would like to thank the Northridge High School Athletic Department and the Goshen Health Foundation in helping us reach our goal to give back to the community. A special thank you to our sponsors and to all who have donated for making this possible.”
